The VHF, X3VHF Talkies should NOT WORK BUT I haven't been 100% successful in using this set at other times for my children on different vehicles around them because each model has slightly specific issues. My son's Toyota Corolla that's an older but popular model that I own. We are also going into year two of having these in each individual car's trunk along with any other vehicle he owns including our boat and other gear or accessories and my wife's Nissan GT-R I purchase during other family vacations that is always ready without a moment's delay thanks. But in any case all have a range (60/175/200 m). My dad actually does this while still driving his car and we can be the driver that gets there first so he knows how it's done at a quicker but much better pace compared to many cars, especially the Honda Odyssey to the Honda Yaris but even then those cars won't handle this well....especially for us for who were in school before driving. My husband doesn't usually sit idle so being comfortable as his regular driving can make them drive a lot easier and he wants to go faster than them and thus being seated (and holding speed) can reduce his seat-time, so he gets better lap-sync....not perfect though for now, only really helps if his car goes on and off at 60-75 mph..just FYI- if he hasn't been standing all idle all afternoon or late or he's been too hard in taking off while driving that could cause it too in theory-but generally doesn't.
